While we may not be able to dance through the streets in our finest summer dresses, we can indulge in some pretty nifty outerwear to temper the current climate and our need for fashion newness.

Temperatures are just about warm enough to warrant ditching the winter coat, but we need a suitable replacement to take over…

This Sixties-inspired coat does exactly as you’d imagine. Enveloping your look, it provides almost as much cover as your winter coat but in a lighter fashion. The shorter length and wrist-baring sleeves make it stylish and seasonal.

The Marli leather jacket

A tried-and-tested classic, this lightweight throw-on isn’t bulky, so won’t take up space if you need to de-robe in rare bursts of sunshine. It allows for layering when required and although keeps you warm, never leads to overheating.

The Lois tailored blazer

A great option on smarter days, a tailored blazer will nip and flare in all the right places for a snappy silhouette. For an on-trend option, go double-breasted or stick to slimming one-button styles for style longevity.

The Issey relaxed jacket

Easy-going and really relaxed, an open jacket is usually silky, loose and a little bit floppy. Sitting perfectly over your outfit on days where you’re unsure of the weather, you can slip it off as easily as you slipped it on.

I would say the 42 street subway station, it’s like a variety show down there.

JAMES DEAN

The 1955 classic Rebel Without A Cause, where James Dean plays the emotionally tormented Jim Stark, became the symbol of youth counterculture, with testimony to the attitude of the time and the way we wanted to look and dress. Why not continue this retro influence of non-conformity by updating Dean’s classic easy-going style of jeans and t-shirts with a more contemporary Americana take.

This was a man who stood up in front of the world and said I am the greatest, the three-time heavyweight champion of the world possibly was. Ali was always able to put clothing combinations together with elegant effect, a theme he duplicated throughout his boxing career.

Steve McQueen’s appearance in the crime drama The Thomas Crown Affair is the defining style moment for most men. McQueen’s style was all about clean-cut masculinity with more than a hint of smooth classic appeal.

MICHAEL CAINE

That cockney accent and the cheeky smile told everyone Michael Caine was the main man. No stranger to the fine tailoring of Saville Row, he almost always displayed desire for finely cut suits and neatly tied neck ties. A great example of  a man who was always dressed to perfection. His personal style was always refined exuberance and polished 60′s charm both of which he had in abundance.

But if your ‘brunch’ date is skirting dangerously close to the more traditional lunchtime, there’s only one place we’d rather spend a relaxed Sunday afternoon.

Bubba Gump on Santa Monica pier, L.A. is a world famous seafood restaurant, where the shrimp offerings are lip-smackingly good.

During our recent visit to the legendary shrimp shack, the menu had us spolit for choice. Eventually plumping for the Shrimper’s Heaven, these cute little cones were brimming with deep fried deliciousness that certainly hit the spot.

All washed down with a refreshing beer, we took in the waves gently lapping the shore below and rounded the afternoon off with a walk along the sand.

We can but California dream…

We hope to see a colourful game from both sides…

On Dress Up Friday all you need is a little blue dress.

Forgo your tie. It’s still a dressy look.

A Chanel-esque jacket is a chic classic. Pull on over jeans to instantly dress things up.

A splash of colour and a sharp blazer make denim Dress Up Friday appropriate.

A glamorous affair, with designer lots aplenty; dresses by Matthew Williamson and Stella McCartney, artwork by Tracey Emin and even a Prada handbag, they were very desirable. We donated our Personal Tailoring experience which saw lots of bids by well-dressed gents.

The afternoon included a superb Mad Hatters high tea, an inspiring speech by Kids Company founder, Camila Batmanghelidjh and of course the silent auction. Each table was given a fancy tablet to tap away and place their bids – the Reiss team had to sit on their hands to resist bidding on the Tracey Emin.

To round the afternoon off in style, an impressive performance by Beverley Knight brought the auction to a close.

With summer getting off to such a slow start this year; we are all looking forward to some extra sunshine. Being able to soak up some sun and watch the world go by is all the more wonderful when your in Malibu and relaxing on that famous beachfront.

Malibu beach is famous for its beautiful warm, sandy beaches and for being the home of the who’s who of L.A living. The affluent, cool and not to mention the Hollywood A-list are all drawn to this year round sunshine oasis. With great surfs, the waves here are legendary; you can kick back, drop your beach towel and settle in the sand.

Wander along the beach and stroll into a piece of pandering heaven called Paradise Cove, a private beach in Malibu with a café. You can eat here with your feet in the sand looking out at the sea in this sheltered oasis. This really is Malibu paradise because this Beach Cafe has become a must location for anyone and everyone in the know in L.A.

The restaurant offers a great variety of sea food, in an atmosphere that takes you back to the golden era of Hollywood with lots of photographs from old Malibu on the walls. Combining your visit to the restaurant with a walk on the beach is great way of spend an afternoon in the sun.

Paradise Cove is, as its name suggests a breathtaking stretch of soft golden beachfront. I Just wish London looked like this in summer…

With fashion TV presenter, Louise Roe choosing to wear it in cream to the National Television awards and reality TV star, Lauren Goodger wearing it in black to the Elite 2012 Model Look UK launch, it’s quite the head-turner.

We’ve also spotted Fearne Cotton wearing it in cream to film Celebrity Juice.
