REISS LIVE AT MAN DAY

What is it with London Fashion Week? Too many people to photograph! Too many places to be at once! We need some help! Enter suited and booted Reiss friend and blogger, Matt, who we threw into the lions den, also known as MAN DAY. His blog, The Gents Dresser is a guide to men’s style so basically, he already has his eye firmly on the sartorial ball. Here’s his report from a full blown day of mens style…

The drizzle in London didn’t dampen our spirits as we headed to Somerset House for ‘Man Day’….And what a playful bunch of gents we found. With the atmosphere high, we were treated to everything from tweed to studs; ‘diversity’ being the word of the day. Tailoring was worn in tweed and flannel, but off-set with contrasting trousers and functional footwear- Brogues and boots worn with authority NOT just polished and pretty. Key colours of Bordeaux and Mustard were seen in abundance, and the cable knit and quilted jacket is clearly staying around for a little while longer.

After navigating the streets around The Strand we found ourselves at The Royal Opera House where the devil certainly seemed to be in the details. Colour pop socks flashed beneath rolled hems, bags were carried proudly and pocket squares were prominent and colourful. Outerwear was key with crombies, Varsity jackets and, the trench….As well as double breasted pea-coats of course.

The ladies looked good, but today was certainly ALL about the gents.
